Happy Birthday to all who share this month; Diamond is your birthstone.
Diamond is my absolute favorite gemstone. April birthdays are the lucky ones! I am captivated by the brilliance and fire of diamonds; I love that each one has its own identity. Like our own fingerprints, no two are exactly alike. Diamonds form under high temperatures and extreme pressure conditions 100 miles under the earth's surface. They are also the only gemstone made of one single element: 99.95 carbon. The remaining .5 contains one or more trace elements which influence the diamond's shape and color.
You've probably heard that only another diamond can scratch a diamond, and this is true. They are the hardest material on earth - 58 times harder than anything else in nature! The hardness of the stone makes it well-suited for everyday wear. It's durable, resists scratching and retains a high polish. These factors make diamonds the perfect choice for the jewelry you wear today, as well as your heirlooms of tomorrow.
If you've ever ogled a friend's gleaming diamond, you are most likely enjoying the spectacular display of light that flashes spectral colors, which is just one of the many features of this gemstone. The brilliance, sparkle, intensity, and various imperfections (which is the stone's unique personality!) are also important to the rarity and value of each diamond.
Diamonds are a fascinating and complicated gem; a "Stone of Invincibility" that has been believed to bring victory, superior strength, fortitude, and courage to its wearer. I really like that diamEnjoy your birthstone! May it bring you all these qualities and more.onds are also said to hold great spiritual powers, enhance inner vision, stimulate creativity, imagination and open the mind to new possibilities.
In years past, instead of making resolutions, I've carefully chosen words to guide me or mantas to represent the seasons to follow; words like balance and creativity would bring me back to a middle space if I lost my way. Hindsight is 2020, and one-year goals are no longer going to cut it.
I was interviewed for a feature in Main Line Today Magazine as one of the hottest new designers in Chester County, the article is linked below. As I prepare to celebrate my 10th year designing jewelry for you, I still remain "new" to the Main Line.
